Educational work
Educational process is directed to effective individual preparation and training of up-to-date specialist who is able to solve modern industrial or scientific tasks.
The activity of the Center provides teaching the follow disciplines: -
Department of Forestry and Hunting Science – silviculture, forest pirology, non-wood products and secondary use of forest, forest productivity regulation, forestry and recreation silviculture, biology of forest animals and birds, hunting animals breeding and animal scince, biology and etology of hunting production animals, hunting trophies, hunting, fur commodity science, cynology, fauna of gardens and forest-parks, biotechniques;

Department of Forest Plantations – forest plantations, decorative forest nursery with fundamentals of seed science, fundamentals of afforestation, production methods of forest growing, plantation cultures of technically valuable sorts, forest sort seeding, forest productivity improvement through forest –cultural methods, biology of growing and nutrition of wood plants;

Department of Forest Protection – forest phytopathology, forest entomology, diseases and pest of decorative plants, biological resistance of forest coenosis, mathematical modeling of diseases and pests amount, forest pathology, nemathology, forest protection technology, entomopathophytological examination, forest tree immunity, diseases and pest diagnostics, edible and poisonous mushrooms, mushroom science, diseases and pest prognosis, methods of entomopathophytological investigations;

Department of Wood Processing Technology – introduction into the specialty, theoretical bases of wood processing technology, wood science with fundamentals of commodity research, wood processing machines and tools, hydro-thermal treatment and wood conserving, technology of dust materials, technology of glued materials, technology of wood production, internal plant transport, technology of wood decorating;

Department of Forest Complex Mechanization – forest felling and forest products transportation, forestry mechanization, fundamentals of forest harvesting, forest felling, forest roads and forest transport, mechanization of forest melioration works, mechanization of park and garden works, forest boxing and forest chemistry.
Directions of scientific activity
Interests of the Forestry Department are directed to studying of forest nature, its typology. During the last years the influence of linear intermediate cutting on young pine stands, cycles of nutrient matters and impact of forest stand space and parameters on it, optimal composition of tree species in oak stands in Forest-Steppe zone are investigated.
Department of Forest Plantation conducts the researches that concern forest recultivation of terrace landscape in Ukraine and development of theoretical and technological bases for afforestation and reforestation system on the principles of environmentally oriented forestry.
Main direction of research activities of the Forest Protection Department is the development of theoretical and technological base for growing of resistible, high productivity forest stands in Ukraine and their protection against diseases, nematodes and pests.
The main activity directions of Forest Melioration Department are: optimization of zonal forest-agricultural ecological systems, forestry methods fighting against soils’ drought and erosion, improving of forest protection stands effectiveness.
Department of Forest Complex Mechanization develops the system of forest plantation on the basis of complex mechanization.
Services, propositions and cooperation
All departments of the ERC of Forestry collaborate closely with production, higher educational establishments and scientific and research institutes of Ukraine, Russia, CIS countries and the USA.
